Siksil Institute of Information Technology (Pvt) Ltd recently held its 6th Diploma Awards Ceremony at the BMICH. This year over 400 Diplomates received their Certificates. Dr. Sampath Amaratunga, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Mr. R.M.P. Dayawansa, President - Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, was the Guest of Honor.

During his speech Dr. Amaratunga highlighted the importance of IT to the economy of Sri Lanka. The Keynote address was delivered by Dr. Jagath Bandaranayake, the Former Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

Mr. Bandara Dissanayake Chairman/Managing Director – Siksil Institute of IT emphasized that Siksil has worked continuously to make world class IT education available at an affordable cost to students in Sri Lanka. He further commented that these Diplomates would take IT to a new paradigm in Sri Lanka

Since it’s inception in 2002, Siksil has grown from strength to strength and has held annual diploma awards ceremonies. Mr. Malaka Abeysundara was adjudged the winner of the Gold Medal awarded for the Most Outstanding Student of the Year – 2007/8. Gold Medals were also awarded for best performers of each course conducted during the past academic year.

Siksil Institute of Information Technology (Pvt) Ltd is a BOI approved IT training institute registered under the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka (TVEC). Siksil is also an authorized Test Centre for the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) Examinations and an approved delivery centre for Australian Institute of Business Administration (AIBA), University of Sunderland, UK and Association of Business Executive (ABE), UK.
